The Office of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Protection of Personal Data participated in a meeting organized by the Office for Public Relations at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana in the framework of transparent communication between the judicial system, the public and the media. Mrs. was also invited to this activity. Besa Velaj, Director of the Commissioner’s Cabinet, while representatives of civil society and the media were also present.

The focus of the meeting was the analysis of the activity of this court from the point of view of fulfilling the obligations arising from the law on the right to information and the law on the protection of personal data, the discussion on strengthening cooperation with partners in increasing the efficiency of information mechanisms , as well as in order to fulfill the legal obligations for the Transparency Program. The Commissioner’s Office contributed to this meeting by handling in balance and proportionality the issues where the right to information interacts with the right to protect personal data of citizens.
