Interaction with civil society, for an effective and transparent health system

The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office was invited to the presentation of the “Monitoring Report of the National Health Strategy (NHS) 2021-2030, achievements and challenges” drafted by “Together for Life” (TfL). This document is an important platform for the development and improvement of this system in our country that aims to provide quality, accessible and equal healthcare for all citizens.

At this meeting, the Commissioner’s Office received appreciation from (TfL) for the contribution and support provided throughout the process of collecting the necessary information for drafting this report. Representatives of the institution emphasized that the role it plays in guaranteeing the right to information would be incomplete without cooperation and interaction with civil society organizations, to achieve the common objective of increasing transparency, responsiveness and accountability of public authorities.

This report is the first monitoring document drafted since the adoption of the National Health Strategy 2021-2030, to assess the achievements and challenges in the implementation of policies, specific objectives or activities defined in this Strategy. Part of the meeting were key stakeholders contributing to the health sector, such as representatives of policy-making, decision-making, independent institutions, donors, civil society and the media.
