The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office Chairs the Meeting of the ICIC Executive Committee

On March 10, 2025, took place the first meeting of the year for the Executive Committee of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC). This meeting also marked the first event chaired by the Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office in its role as the ICIC Presidency and Secretariat.

The meeting, held online, was introduced by Commissioner Mr. Besnik Dervishi and gathered representatives of information rights authorities from various countries, including Germany, Australia, Bermuda, South Africa, Sierra Leone, and Albania

In his opening remarks, Commissioner Dervishi emphasized the importance of international cooperation in strengthening transparency and the right to information. The agenda included the approval of the minutes from the previous Executive Committee meeting, a presentation by the host authority regarding preparations for the upcoming ICIC Conference in Berlin, Germany, in June 2025, and discussions on calls for a new ICIC presidency and the host authority for 2027.

Additionally, committee members reviewed an application from an authority seeking to join ICIC and discussed other important matters related to the functioning of this international forum.

The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office remains committed to fulfilling its duties as the ICIC Presidency and Secretariat, responsibly overseeing all processes and activities of this important international forum.
