KDIMDP conducts training on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with representatives of Western Balkan institutions

The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office (KDIMDP) at the invitation of the Western Balkans Cyber ​​Capability Center (WB3C) conducted a 2-day training on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In the training, which was attended by Data Protection Officers (DPOs) of public institutions in the Western Balkans, the Commissioner’s Office provided expertise in the field of personal data protection, also in the context of the adoption of Law No. 124/2024 “On the Protection of Personal Data” and its full alignment with the GDPR.

The training was led by the Secretary General of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Ms. Blerta Xhako, and aimed to familiarize the audience with the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data and specifically, the regulatory framework, the rights of data subjects, the obligations of controllers during the processing process, the role of DPOs, risk management and information security, etc.

The Secretary General of the KDIMDP, Ms. Blerta Xhako, also discussed with the Director of the Western Balkans Cyber ​​Capability Center, Mr. Gilles Schwoerer, the ongoing efforts of the countries of the region in fully aligning their data protection legislation with European Union standards.
