The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office participated in the 30th edition of the Tirana International Fair (TIF30), on November 6-9, 2024. This activity served as a platform for information and interaction between business communities and beyond, to create bridges of cooperation between them and public institutions.
Part of the agenda of this Fair were also meetings, seminars and trainings for the exchange of ideas and the presentation of best practices, where the Commissioner’s Office was also invited to the panel “The banking system in Albania, the challenges of digitalization”. It addressed issues of interest that mainly relate to technical-organizational measures for providing guarantees in the secure processing of personal data by digital services in this sector. This approach will increase awareness, a culture of transparency and accountability in building functional systems. On the other hand, it was underlined that the process of modernizing national legislation in the field of personal data protection according to European Union standards (GDPR) is expected to be finalized soon. Also, the attendees emphasized the necessity of strengthening dialogue and finding the right ways between the business community and public institutions to guarantee the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Also, the Commissioner’s Office was represented throughout the 4 days of the Fair with a special stand. This participation aimed to promote the awareness-raising role, recognition of the institution’s activities and functions, as well as direct interaction with various categories and interest groups.
