The Executive Committee of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC) held its second online meeting of the year today, 28 May 2025.
This meeting was chaired by the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Mr. Besnik Dervishi, in his capacity as President of this Executive Committee.
This session was attended by the Commissioners for the Right to Information from member countries such as Germany, Australia, Argentina (Buenos Aires), Kenya, Bermuda, South Africa, Sierra Leone.
Commissioner Dervishi praised the work and commitment of the German authority as the next host of the XVI edition of the International Conference of Information Commissioners, which will be held on 23-25 June 2025 in Berlin.
The Committee members took several important decisions regarding the selection of the host of the XVIII edition, which will take place in 2027, as well as the call for the selection of the authority that will hold the role of President/Secretariat of this important forum for the period 2025-2027. Also, the Committee members reviewed the requests of three new applicants to join ICIC with observer status, which were approved by consensus.
