Open Data Law, International Experts Technical Assistance

The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office, within the framework of the TAIEX project, has held the first online meeting with the international expert mission in the field of open data.

At the meeting held between representatives of the Commissioner’s Office and the experts, the details of the activity to be held in September on Law No. 33/2022 “On Open Data and Reuse of Public Sector Information” were discussed.

Foreign experts will provide technical and advisory assistance to assess the current legal and institutional framework, to identify practical challenges in the implementation of the law and to draft recommendations for improvement.

This mission also aims to support the development of public administration capacities to identify, process, standardize and publish data in open formats. Through meetings with the staff of the Commissioner’s Office, key stakeholders and analyzing current practices, the experts will assist in drafting practical guidelines, monitoring mechanisms and measures to encourage the reuse of data by the public or other organizations such as businesses, institutions, or for scientific research.
