The Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Mr. Besnik Dervishi, participated in the ceremony held at the University College of Business, on the occasion of the distribution of training certificates for the professional training and qualification program of the first group of Data Protection Officers.

The training was conducted with the contribution of certified trainers from the Commissioner’s Office, aimed to familiarize and deepen topics such as: the role and responsibilities of Data Protection Officers, the criteria that an Officer must meet, the treatment of the rights of data subjects, risk management and auditing of data processing, addressing data breach cases and assessing the impact on data, understanding the notions of controller, processor, joint controller as well as the preparation of contracts between them, international data transfer, ethics, transparency and communication.

This training comes within the framework of the new Personal Data Protection Law and the cooperation agreement with the Higher Education Institution “University College of Business”.

Such professional trainings serve to build a professional infrastructure that will guarantee a more secure, sustainable and European standard implementation of the right to personal data protection in Albania. The Commissioner’s Office is engaged in organizing a periodic training calendar that will take place in the coming months.
