The Information and Data Protection Commissioner, Mr. Besnik Dervishi, held meetings with senior officials of the United States during the Annual Global Privacy Summit in Washington, D.C.

At the U.S. Department of Justice, Mr. Besnik Dervishi met with the Chief Privacy and Civil Liberties Officer, Mr. Peter A. Winn, and Ambassador Sting Lang, the International Coordinator for Communication and Information Policy. They discussed the new personal data protection law in Albania and the challenges of implementing this law.

In addition, Mr. Dervishi held a meeting with the head of the Federal Trade Commission, Mr. Andrew Ferguson, with whom he discussed data protection and specifically the implementation of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, in accordance with European Commission Decision 2023/1795, dated July 10, 2023.
