Personal Data Protection, Transparency, and Innovation – IDPC Introduces a New Culture of Privacy and Transparency at the “Klik Ekspo Group” Fair

The Information and Data Protection Commissioner’s Office (IDPC) is participating in the 31st edition of the Tirana International Fair, “Klik Ekspo Group 2025,” held at the Palace of Congresses from 5th to 8th of November 2025, under the theme “Window into the Future – Albania 2030.”
In this context, the Commissioner’s Office is present with a dedicated information stand, where visitors can become acquainted with the institution’s mission, responsibilities, and role in safeguarding the right to information and personal data protection.

With the entry into force of Law No. 124/2024, “On Personal Data Protection,” the IDPC has prepared a series of new information materials aimed at simplifying understanding and facilitating the practical implementation of the law. Visitors who are welcomed at the stand can explore thematic leaflets covering key topics such as: the duties and role of the Data Protection Officer, data protection impact assessments, the provision and withdrawal of consent and other practical guidelines on the rights and obligations deriving from the new legal framework.

In the field of access to information, the Commissioner’s Office is also introducing the Explanatory Manual on the Right to Information, developed in a question and answer format to make the implementation of this right more accessible. The Manual is publicly available at the following link: https://idp.al/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Manual-DDI-Light-2025.html.

Beyond the informative materials, the IDPC’s stand features interactive and creative elements, such as the “Data Protection and Transparency Box” – a symbolic installation inviting visitors to draw out inspirational messages and reflect on the importance of their personal data and transparency. This approach introduces a new form of institutional communication, turning the visit into both an educational and enjoyable experience.

Furthermore, visitors are also able to consult publications and annual magazines issued by the Commissioner’s Office, documenting the institution’s journey, cooperation with national and international partners, as well as developments in the legal and technological fields.

As part of the fair’s activities, the IDPC is organizing a dedicated panel titled “Data Protection as the Infrastructure of the Digital Future,” to be held on 7th of November 2025, from 12:30 to 13:30, at the Palace of Congresses. The panel will bring together representatives from public institutions, financial entities, digital businesses, and startups to discuss the implementation of the new law “On Personal Data Protection” and its role in building a secure and sustainable digital future.

In addition, within the broader fair program, the Commissioner’s Office will take part in the panel “Cybersecurity & Digital Resilience,” sharing the institutional perspective on the interplay between data protection and cybersecurity.

Participation in “Klik Ekspo Group 2025” represents an important opportunity for the Commissioner’s Office to engage directly with the public, to promote a sustainable culture of data protection and access to information, and to foster education as a fundamental component of building an informed and transparent society.
