The Commissioner’s Office participated in the symposium organized virtually within the framework of ASEAN (the regional network of Southeast Asian countries), where practices and developments in the field of international cooperation were presented.
In this international forum, the role of the Commissioner’s Office as the Presidency and Secretariat of ICIC was emphasized, while the activities and initiatives of the network in the exchange of experiences and the creation of global standards for access to information and transparency were presented and promoted. In this context, Ms. Emerlinda Pema, Director of Transparency Program Monitoring, presented the institutional approach and the main developments in this regard, mainly focusing on the activity of the ICIC network.
During the presentation, Ms. Pema emphasized and highlighted the achievements and latest developments of the network, as well as shared with the participants the challenges and future objectives.
The panel also included as co-panelists Commissioner Tydd from Australia, as well as Ms. Swati Mehta, OGP Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific.
Participation in this symposium confirms the commitment of the Commissioner’s Office to be an active part of international processes, but also to promote the work of ICIC, a duty that also arises from the Johannesburg Charter.
