The ICIC Executive Committee held its third meeting, which was opened by Commissioner Besnik Dervishi, with a welcoming speech.
The discussions focused on the preparations for the upcoming ICIC conference, where members were informed about the progress of the organization and the logistical aspects related to participation in this activity.
One of the issues addressed during the meeting was the possibility of renewing the Memorandum of Understanding between ICIC and UNESCO, which is expected to be completed soon. The Commissioner’s Office, in its role as the ICIC Secretariat, presented possible steps for the continuation of the cooperation, while the Committee expressed its agreement to initiate communications regarding the renewal of the memorandum and the further development of institutional cooperation.
The meeting also discussed the initiative for drafting a joint declaration of the ICIC–UNESCO conference, as well as issues related to the expansion of ICIC membership. In this context, the importance of including countries that have adopted the relevant legislation, but are not yet part of ICIC as accredited members, was emphasized. The next Executive Committee meeting is expected to be held in July.
