Commissioner Besnik Dervishi meets with EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato

Besnik Dervishi received at the premises of the Commissioner’s Office the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Mr. Silvio Gonzato, at a meeting where developments and priorities in the field of personal data protection were discussed.

During the conversation, the Commissioner presented Dervishi and their inclusion in certain frameworks of Law No. 124/2024 “On the Protection of Personal Data”, as a new legal framework aligned with European Union standards, as well as the challenges related to their mechanisms and the guarantee of human rights.

Commissioner Dervishi assessed the European Union’s process of legal and institutional approximation, emphasizing the need for reducing the human and living capacities maintained, in function of the functioning of law enforcement and the development of certain areas.

For his part, Ambassador Gonzato stressed the importance of protecting personal data as a strong and fair person of the law and his right to privacy and privacy, being important to an independent and special person for me. The Ambassador emphasized that the controllers and private data controllers will follow the instructions and recommendations of the Commissioner, in order to guarantee the public and the freedoms of women’s principles.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Cabinet and the Secretary General, while from the side of the European Union Delegation were present Mr. Andre Rizzo – Head of the Political Sector as well as the Charge d’Affaires for Employment and Security Mr. Aleksandër Romanovic.
