The joint project of the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Albania of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for fulfilling the obligations of the legislation in both areas of the institution’s responsibility conducted activities in Kavaja municipality.

This awareness activity, with the participation of representatives of public authorities in this area, the Commissioner, Mr. Besnik Dervishi, Head of the Law Enforcement Department at the OSCE office, Mr. Cailean Maclean, the Mayor of Kavajë Municipality, Mr. Fisnik Qosja, and representatives of central/local institutions that conduct activities in this local self-government unit, as well as from the municipalities of Peqin and Belsh, were present.

In this training activity, the importance of fulfilling legal obligations was emphasized in both campaigns of the responsibility of the Commissioner’s Office, which influence the increase in transparency and good governance of public authorities and, on the other hand, strengthen the accountability and quality of services for citizens.

The activity also included other components for the awareness of citizens, through the distribution of publications/leaflets by the staff of the Commissioner’s Office, as well as the exchange of good practice in the framework of transparency with the public.
